Ombient Refund & Cancellation Policy
Last updated: 21 January 2026
This Policy explains how to cancel an auto-renewing subscription and how to request a refund. It must be read together with our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. Capitalised terms not defined here have the meaning given in those documents.
1) Cancellation (Easy Online / Email)
We provide a simple online cancellation flow that is no more burdensome than sign-up.
- Manage or cancel online (website purchases): https://account.ombient.app/cancel
- Email cancellation (any channel): send an email from the same email address you used to purchase to support@ombient.app with a clear request to cancel your subscription. We will process the cancellation and email you a confirmation with the effective date and timestamp.
- App Store / Google Play purchases: manage/cancel directly in your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings. Store policies control renewal and billing.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term; access continues until that date.
2) Refunds — Single Channel (Form Only)
To keep things fast and consistent, all refund requests must be submitted via our online form:
https://account.ombient.app/refund
- Platform purchases (Apple / Google): refunds are administered under the platform’s rules. Please start with the platform’s refund flow. If you need assistance or believe a refund is required by law, still submit our Refund Form so we can review and help. Final issuance for platform purchases is controlled by Apple/Google.
- Window: We generally accept refund claims during the subscription period. This does not limit any non-waivable statutory rights you may have.
3) Money-Back Guarantee (Goodwill)
In addition to your statutory rights. If you purchased directly on our website and the money-back option was presented at checkout, you may request a refund if you did not see visible results, provided all of the following are met:
- You contact us within 30 days after your initial purchase and before your subscription period ends; and
- You have completed at least 5 sessions (workout/meditation/lesson or other in-app session).
- Proof: upload screenshots from the app (your profile) showing completion of the required number of sessions (workout/meditation/lesson or other in-app sessions).
We review applications and notify you by email of approval or denial. This goodwill guarantee does not limit mandatory consumer rights.
4) Courses as Digital Content
Some products are sold as one-time purchases of single digital content (e.g., a fixed course delivered immediately as a complete set, without ongoing obligations).
- EU/EEA & Switzerland: for single digital content, if you expressly request immediate access and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal, you will not be eligible for withdrawal for that item.
- Where a course is delivered over time (e.g., staged release, coaching, ongoing updates), it is treated as a continuous digital service; if you withdraw within 14 days, refunds are made minus a pro-rata amount for services already provided.
To exercise these rights, submit the Refund Form at https://account.ombient.app/refund and select single digital content or subscription/continuous service as appropriate.
5) EU/EEA & Switzerland — Statutory Right of Withdrawal
If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or Switzerland, you have 14 days from the contract date to withdraw.
- Single digital content: see Section 4 (withdrawal may be lost upon immediate supply with your consent).
- Subscriptions/continuous service: if you withdraw within 14 days, we refund payments minus a pro-rata amount for service provided up to your notice.
How to exercise: you may use the Model Withdrawal Form below and submit it through our Refund Form at https://account.ombient.app/refund. This statutory right applies regardless of our goodwill guarantee. (Where applicable law requires acceptance via other communication methods, we will honour such requests; however, the Refund Form is our primary processing channel.)
6) United States — Auto-Renewal & Easy Cancellation
We disclose renewal terms at sign-up, send an acknowledgment email with renewal details, and provide a simple online cancellation flow (see Section 1). Where any state law requires specific notices or cooling-off/renewal rules, we comply. Nothing here limits your non-waivable statutory rights.
7) Service Interruptions & Credits (Non-Statutory)
Definition. A “Service Interruption” means a complete, unplanned outage of the Ombient app or backend services that prevents core functionality (e.g., login, content playback) for a continuous period not caused by your device, operating system, account settings, or internet connectivity.
Planned maintenance & force majeure. Planned maintenance notified in advance and events outside our reasonable control (force majeure) are not considered Service Interruptions.
Outages shorter than one business day. Refund requests based on a Service Interruption that lasts less than one (1) business day are assessed on a case-by-case basis and may be declined. This does not affect any non-waivable statutory rights you may have under applicable law.
Troubleshooting first (goodwill/technical claims). If your refund request is based on inability to access the mobile app (e.g., login/authorization errors, crashes), please contact Support first at support@ombient.app so we can assist you before the refund is processed. Provide screenshots and any error messages.
This troubleshooting step does not apply where the law grants you a withdrawal or refund right that cannot be conditioned on prior remediation.
Service credit option (instead of refund). If you are not eligible for a refund, you may choose a service credit in the form of additional access time equal to the number of days affected, up to thirty (30) days per subscription term. Service credits extend access or postpone the next renewal date and cannot be exchanged for cash. For purchases made via the Apple App Store or Google Play, billing is controlled by the platform; where possible we will apply an in-app access extension rather than a billing adjustment.
Exclusions. Requests may be declined where the issue results from (i) your device, OS, or third-party software; (ii) local network or connectivity problems; (iii) use that violates our Terms; or (iv) failure to cooperate with reasonable troubleshooting steps. This section operates in addition to and does not limit your statutory rights (including EU/EEA withdrawal rules and any mandatory remedies for lack of conformity).
8) Information Required for Refund Requests & Data Minimization
To locate your purchase, determine eligibility under this Policy and applicable law, and prevent fraud, the Refund Form requires the following information:
- Email address used for the purchase
- Reason for refund (brief description)
- Purchase date
- Invoice/receipt number or transaction ID (for platform purchases, the Apple/Google receipt ID)
- Country of residence or billing country
- Screenshots:
- for Money-Back Guarantee claims — screenshots from the app showing the required number of completed sessions;
- for access/technical issues — error screenshots and (if available) your support ticket ID.
We may request additional details only if necessary to verify your identity, locate the transaction, comply with tax/consumer law, or investigate suspected fraud. We do not request technical device data unless it is needed to diagnose a defect you report.
We process personal data for refund handling under our Privacy Notice and applicable law, following the principles of data minimization, purpose limitation, and storage limitation. Legal bases may include performance of contract, compliance with legal obligations (e.g., tax/consumer protection), and our legitimate interests in fraud prevention.
9) Exclusions / Abuse
Without prejudice to your statutory rights, refunds may be declined in cases of:
(a) obvious abuse, fraud, or chargeback misuse; (b) material breach of Terms;
(c) deliberate circumvention of technical/usage limits; (d) requests outside the applicable statutory or goodwill windows.
10) Refund Method and Timing
Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method without undue delay.
Funds typically appear within up to 14 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider. Processing times may vary by provider and currency.
11) Language
This Policy may be translated for convenience. In case of discrepancy, the English version prevails.
